Well my tigers are missing three of their best hitters...this series may already be over.

Not so fast, bucko!  Injuries are a part of baseball.  Don't throw in the towel just yet. Last I checked, Victor and Miguel are still playing.

Not sure that Carlos Guillen may have his rehab schedule sped up a bit.  Also, Andy Dirks can hit, and he may be just young enough not to let the pressue get to him.

Keep the faith.

Don't know if any of you guys are watching a ball game tonight but there's tons of offense! It's 11 to 6 in the top of the 6th with three good guys on base.

Of course we're up :green:

GO CARDS !!!!!

,,,make that 12 to 6

Scott,

I didn't watch the game (too hooked on Forza Motorsport 4), but just saw what Pujols did last night...truly legendary!!

Pujols had the single greatest offensive game in World Series history by smacking 3 HRs, driving in 6 runs, and collecting 5 hits while totaling 14 bases.

My only gripe is that with a team as rich in baseball history as the Cardinals, do you really need the rally squirrel?

Well, let's see.....the Cards rallied from WAY back in the pack to make the post season on the last day, and now they're on the cusp of their 11th WS title.  If that isn't a rally, I don't know what is. :thumb: And what's wrong with a little squirrel fun?  It's not like someone sent a trained squirrel running across the field.

I mean, some cities celebrate a kid who snares a ball CLEARLY in the field of play that's called a home run.  :o It's on tape, illegal as hell, and they call him a hero?  C'mon!   What's the diff?   :icon_twisted:

DISCLAIMER:  Having grown up in the AL, I am not a big Cards fan.  But I do have a long memory! :deadhorse: :peek:

Oh, I watched every minute last night of the World Series game.
I think it was in the third inning that there was some introductory music of the Sopranos, and Fat Tony stepped out of the dugout, looked at the Texas crowd, spit into the dirt, and yelled,
"Release the Kraken!"
Albert Pujols (the Card's Kraken) obliged. :D

Tony looks so much kinder with his new tinted glasses.  So long Aviator Green. 8)

Yes, the rally squirrel is a little goofy  ...but it;s all in good fun I guess.

Like brick eluded, I'm not a big sports follower. I'm sort of a fair weather fan of local teams if we happen to be in the hunt. I seem to always have other things going when the games are on. Oh well.

I have to say, it was loads of fun last night sitting at a local watering hole with Bryan (bpape) and our wives watching the game and cheering.

As for Pujols, yep he's fun to watch. When I do pay attention or go to a game, it's fun to see how the other teams pitch to him.

I just hope we sign him. not sure that's going to happen though. Local folks say they will but I'm not convinced. We'll see what happens over the winter.  :thumb:

We're all rooting for another win tonight!

Well, I love my Cardinals, but I think there are exceptions to your rules, thunderbrick

And now a nod to the mighty Cardinals, who are gonna win it ALL this year.

The yankees aren't fond of picking up free agents that still have talent. They will get him when he's 40.

Hmmm...let me guess, you don't like the Yankees?

Don't worry, Pujols is not going to the Yanks.

Just to let you know where my baseball loyalties lie........I was in Memorial Stadium when the Orioles celebratedBrooks Robinson's retirement (still have the program!), and lived a few miles from the stadium and could hear the cheers when we swept the Dodgers in '66.

Shut out the bums 27 consecutive innings, as I recall.   :thumb: :

DAMN!  The last 15+ years have sucked!!!!!!!!

Don't like when any team buys their talent to that extent...just too hard to root for.  Washington apparently will be big buyers this offseason. I'd like my tigers to get prince fielder simply because his dad played here but won't happen.

I hope Pujols doesn't wind up on the Yankees!  They already have a massive payroll with an allstar at every position. Do they really need another mega-buck player?  Either way, they still suck and can't win with the highest payroll in the game!  I love it.

World Series ends tonight! May the best team win!

For those who missed yesterday's game, some say it was the best ball game ever. It certainly had the full element of suspense, which IMO is why the game of baseball is a great spectator sport.

For me the Jays had a good season overall. Need one or two key players and could be a contender next year with their strong batting lineup.

Ok, I'm gonna cheer for Texas, cause I like the American League rule of designated hitter. 8)

Could not disagree more.  As someone who grew up with baseball in the 60's the DH is a terrible concept that needs to end.

Teams like Boston, Yankess, etc. would not be as good without the DH.

IMHO, National League baseball is a better sport, as there is a LOT more involved when the pitcher has to bat, vs. some overweight DH who cannot field.

You make a good point. However I see it this way, the pitchers is specialized at pitching. Therefore a team should have a batter that is specialized at batting, for the pitcher, who generally suck when it comes to batting. :P

I watched game 6 yesterday, and it was a great game!  Granted I did not grow up in the good USofA, instead grew up playing soccer in Brazil;  however with time this baseball game grows on you.

Going home right now to watch the 7th game.  Texas already 2-0 on the first  :)
