Sounds like you are new to this so, perhaps iTunes would be the easiest for you, just make sure you select the AIFF format (or Apple lossless) and turn on the error correction. WAVE can be hit or miss for tag support (album art, artist, song titles, etc) so beginners might find it a bit frustrating to figure out the quirks. If you want to do FLAC, then you need to look for something other than iTunes:

Programs like Rip (sbooth.org) and Exact Audio Copy are great as they will also do a checksum online to give that one more level of confidence the rip was perfect and you can set them up to work with iTunes.
