If you have the original image files and compare them side beside.  Maybe.

I'm positive there's a difference with the originals - it's just on my laptop 15" screen - and I hit Cntl +  eight times to blow it up - I couldn't see it. Plus, I'm sure they didn't want to post a super high resolution photo.

But believe me, I would love to have a Hasselblad.

This should help.  It is actually a moot point.  Hasselblad Medium format is on the top of the food chain.

Hey!

Man! That's is nice. Bigger sensor and quality German Zeiss lens really paid off when is come to resolution and color. :D

Yeah, I found red to be very problematic too with my DSLR.  :icon_lol:

Just wondering. How big is the RAW file out of that thing, what memo card you use and how long dose it take between short?

Take care
Buddy :thumb:

The Hasselblad Raw files are 30-40mb the canon 5D is approx. 24mb
I'm stocking up on Hard drive.......

It's about a second between shots- I shoot on Sandisk 8gb Ultra 2's

The only problem with the camera is the crappy screen on the back (compared to the 5D)
even my old canon 10D had a better screen!

Can't give you a RAW wedding image but i can give you a raw hasselblad's  ".fff " file from this: http://ijproductions.com/blog/2011/01/06/canon-5d-mark-2-vs-hasselblad-h2d/
That would be super sweet.  I have set up an FTP account where you can upload them.  I will PM you the login.  I promise I won't do anything unseemly or infringatory with your photos, I just wanna see the goods for myself! :)  Thanks!

I'm uploading a variety of shots for you. you'll need Phocus 2.5 from the blad website
I'll also try and find some RAWs from the H3D - 31 mega pixel back

Also you might want to read a few goos articles from http://www.hasselblad.com/downloads/technical-articles.aspx

Details on the Hasselblad is amazing!

Any self respecting Wedding photographers should have one of those.

Of course, it's just $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!  OK for a pro.  Otherwise.....  So, Levi, you should get one!  :thumb:

I am not a wedding photographer.

Actually, I am very happy with my full-frame DSLR.  :thumb:

p.s.  My Canon G10 gets more action lately because it is convenient.

I don't know any wedding photographers who use the Hasselblad. They just can't justify the cost of using one.

I use iPhone's Hipstamatic app more than the blad!

we should have a new topic- Hipstamatic photos!

My Canon G10 gets more action lately because it is convenient.

Let me guess, because it's comparatively compact and lightweight?  That's one reason why I chose Pentax.

So, everybody's happy with his own toy, no complaint.  I'm happy with my Panny G1 also. :thumb:  Everyone buys a piece of gear to his objective.  Me for G1's decent performance and compactness for travel.  I had not been that happy with my oldie Canon G7.  I think the G7's IS is not that good (my hand is less steady than many people  :bawl:).   :green: The only problem now is that replying to you, Levi, is I had to switch from IE to Firefox.  A/C doesn't work well with the Reply or Quote buttons for me.  Any explanation?  Steering away from Hassy now .

I'd be more than happy with a Pentax 645D at $10k.  Unfortunately, it would be pretty difficult for me to justify that expensive a camera body.

It took some computer acrobatics, but I finally got Phocus running and was able to see those files.

Of course it goes without saying that with rare genetic specimens in front of the lens, skillful lighting and professional experience you get 90% of the way there, but nevertheless that Hassy sensor is pretty darn nice!  Wow.  CLEAN is the word that kept coming to mind.  There's no fringing around edges, no noise or grittiness, no splotchy color in any of the channels.  It reminded me of my drum scanner days in a way.  Usually looking at a moden digital camera image at 1:1 can be painful, but this holds up nicely.  No warts.  A little 100/0.5 USM and bob's yer uncle.

If I come across 32 grand in my couch cushions I'm definitely getting one for myself!  :thumb:   Thanks navi!

That is an awesome picture!  I was viewing it in my son's  27" iMac and CLEAN would be an understatement.  :thumb:

Hasselblad will be on my shortlist when I win the lottery.  :green: :P :thumb:

That image is from the H3D 31MP with a 50-110 lens. The problem I had with the H3D is moire. unlike the DSLRs the hasselblad as NO Moire removing Filter. which is one of the reasons why it's so sharp.

Your iPhone does not have moire.

Hey Navi, Excellent image quality.  Moire can be easily controlled.

Perhaps another topic.  A good quality monitor helps you to see more.  I always calibrate all my monitors every 6mos or so.  More on that later.

Good job!

I think you should make a rule that everyone should have a properly calibrated monitor before

This is DXO's camera rankings for colour depth

http://www.dxomark.com/index.php/en/Camera-Sensor/Sensor-rankings/%28type%29/usecase_portrait

They dont have the H2d in there but they have the H3d

As for computer power not being up to 300mb raw files... that's a load of crap ;-)

Sure your $500 retail chain bought computer wont have enough power, but we deal with files here that are 100mp with out any issue on machines with 12gb ram.  And they are not even coming close to using all the available ram.  We had no issues when they were only 8gb machines.  Photoshop is 64bit now btw, and it also supports video card acceleration.

We use files of a different nature that can use 20gb plus in memory... all you need is a $5k+ machine with 24gb ram ;-)  A $5k computer is nothing when you can afford a $10k- $20k camera.
