This is as scenic I can get after yesterdays blizzard 12/27.
Snow ride in the City today. Lots of people getting stuck and damaged cars.
First stop
This is what happens when you spin your tires. It will overheat then blow up causing more damage!
To the rescue

A dumb question but I will ask it anyway: You can really ride through that snow on a bike? Last time
I
remember riding in the snow there were a lot of wipeouts involved. I suspect the disc brakes fare better in such conditions than if you had conventional brakes?

The first hurdle is getting dressed properly for a 26deg F + wind chill. Riding in snow takes a good bit of balance and power. So the answer is Yes and No. If the snow is packed yes you can bike through without sliding but when it is fresh and 12" high No. You simply walk the bike or ride on the sidewalk where it's clear of snow.

I thought I would share some photos taken on the family's trip to Yellowstone/Jackson Hole back in June of 2009. What does this have to do with Winter?? Well, 9 out of 10 days snow fell which made me want to come back during the winter. What a different perspective of this park!!
The first four pics are in the park...
The next four are going south out of Yellowstone towards Jackson Hole, Wyoming which includes the Grand Teton range...

Great photos, thank you for that.
