Hello James, I just have a question, I am a proud owner of a Bryston B60-R.(not remote). I am very happy, But I was wondering why do you still use the "Balance" control? I do not think We need a Balance control anymore, I would eliminate it and just use: Power switch, Volume control and selector control. Make simple...make better!.and also I would use BIGER heat sinks on the back to dissipate more heat easily. maybe I am wrong but it is just a question that I always asked my self on these B60 units. I know for sure you can make it even better. :thumb:

Can't speak for James and Bryston, but not all recordings or rooms are created equal, but most importantly it comes in very handy when trouble shooting discrepancies or problems between channels such as noise, speakers, cables, sources and all sorts of things.
Plus for those of use who suffer from seasonal allergies, sinus congestion etc, one ear may be more blocked than the other, so the balance control is a God send.

I can also come in handy if you have a room where the positioning of speakers means the levels are not identical in the normal central position between the speakers.

I think he meant to say "I do not think I need a Balance control anymore ....."

Also, if you have any of the 129 Jamey Aebersold "Play-A-Long" jazz series, a balance control to mute one track of instruments is a must!
