That meant to say the BDA-1 was produced in 2007?? But I bought it in 2010  :o :o that meant to say I have only 2 years left since its a five year warranty?  :?
There should be a decal on the back of your BDA-1 that lists the serial # and date of manufacture.  723 is the serial number of your unit.  My BDA-1 is close to yours -- I have 798 and it has a manufacture date of 1010 which is the 10th week of 2010 or mid-March 2010.

Thanks Tony! yes, mine is 1006 so that is about same time as yours...what a confusion  :duh:

I think most folks aren't surprise things will fail over time. What matters most is how dealers/distributors/manufacturer response to customers needs/expectations.

Bryston has a good track record and I can testify to their superlative support  :thumb:

While I have no doubt that Bryston will stand behind their warranty and even going beyond our expectations ie bench test etc, I wonder if this can be also said of our local dealers. Ultimately for international customers, it would be the local tech support who would service our equipments. Often it seems like the service falls short of expectations especially when one hears of how far bryston would go for their customers. Maybe it is just me, but I think that while the bryston factory is great, wish it could be said of the local dealers.

Hi James,

Could you clarify the manufacturing dates of the following products I have from Bryston?

BDA1-000723 - Feb 2010 - DOP Feb 2010
4BSSTr2-005101 - Feb 2010 - Apr 2010
MPS2-001146 - Jan 2010 - DOP Mar 2010
BP26-000954 (this is taken from my invoice but can't find it on the preamplifier ) - Aug 2009 - DOP Mar 2010

Hi James, above are the Date Of Purchase (DOP).

In general I can understand the two months lead time for shipment, inventory replenishment, clearance, etc. and the local service support has been very satisfactory. My BP26 is already 6 months old when I got it (I was not aware of it) which had a volume pot issue and was rectified with your local dealer and Bryston assistance. I haven't had any issues since but is there anything Bryston can do on the missing 6 months?  :(

Bryston website provides the most comprehensive information platform among well known brands out there. Bryston warranty coverage is well known in the audiophile industry and I see an opportunity for Bryston to create an online warranty registration for Bryston customers.  :)

Thanks!

Hi larevoj,

Sure if you need a 6 month extension on the warranty - no problem at all :thumb:
Just email me a copy of the sales slip with date of purchase.
