The Vinyl Circle is now the 8th most popular site here @ AudioCircle...and moving up the list fairly fast.

Guess we're not so niche anymore....the vinyl revival seems to be going well :thumb:

Don't pat yourself on the back just yet John. It's just because the digital guys are too busy happily listening to music to play on the internet forums.  :P

What's that noise? Oh....time to go and flip your record over John.

Or in my case LACK of noise...as I mostly use a fully auto turntable (so the precious stylus is lifted at end of the record).

Given the higher fidelity vinyl offers over digital (tho the spread is less over time and the prices downright outstanding on even basic digital gear)...I'm more than happy with the slightly higher effort level to enjoy it.

Given the status as 8th most popular board here...apparently there are enough other folks in tacit agreement :thumb:

I'm working on pulling you in here, too, brother Bob

Hey (non-sequitor as the topic is filler anyhow so we can climb to 7th at AC ) how's the new SAAB 9-5 being received?  Looks nice, but not at all attractively priced versus competition to me. You can buy a Buick Regal (same chassis I think) for 25-30% less in the US.

 :icon_twisted: This is fun.
I knew I could get a rise out of you John. Thanks for playing along.

I do, in fact, have an AR-XA table that I'm pretty proud of. I was honored for one of the local guy let me hear it on his Maggies. It made the eyebrows raise of some vinyl "big shots" in fact.
The bad news; I have no functional preamp.
The good news; I do have enough parts to assemble two or three Bugles, just haven't found the time to sling the solder.

Have no fear John. I'll be here soon.

I think Bob and his AR table presents the purr-fect opportunity to do so :thumb:

Bob - with all the castoffs from another (dedicated) vinyl forum that joined up recently and you here...we'll launch quickly into top 5 boards at AudioCircle in no time 8)

Tres cool - this vinyl revivial might have legs left

Somebody loan Bob in St. Louis a phono pre!!!!!  Can you imagine if the old AR has a little bit of bearing noise and some rumble?  All 7 of Bob's 15" woofers will be flapping!   He could probably keep the mancave cool with that much displacement bopping along at 5-13 Hz.   Damn, wish I had one to spare just to watch the IB 15s work.   :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted:  Love ya',  man!

The fella I bought the AR from gave me a cheapo ($15?) solid state pre he had laying around since the seventies. I never could get it to work.
Bottom line is, I've never heard vinyl in my house. Ever.

For the two channel, I have eight fifteens actually. But who's counting.

I thought of that WolfyChris...but, still, we have less posts than two archived circles.

So, I'm ashamed  to say we need to ratchet it up on the Vinyl Circle :thumb:

we can get any rumble in that AR below 80dbs.  I would like to hear 7 15" cones though.

OK, for my contribution to increasing the Vinyl popularity, I am waiting for delivery of:

Released today and shipping express to me from Barnes & Noble, should be in by Friday, latest.  Haven't ordered vinyl from them previously and am hoping for the best :dunno:.  As an BN member, express shipping is free, so I had to give it a try.
