Hello,

I just bought a new BP16 and when I plugged it in to mains power I noticed that it makes a humming noise.  It's the amplifier itself that noisy.  It sounds like a power supply noise.  It's not loud but you can definitely hear it. Is this normal, or is my new amplifier faulty?

Mechanical hum - should not be.  Try a different plug as well.

No I meant try it in a different power plug to make sure it is not that particular outlet.

If it's a mechaical hum it should not be - what is the serial number and from whom did you purchase it?

OK, I tried another power outlet and it makes the same noise.

BP16-000120 and I bought it from Hifi Zurmühle (Hirschmattstrasse 34 CH-6003 Luzern Switzerland).

I must say though the BDA-1 -> BP16 -> 2x7BSST -> PMC PB1i does sound fantastic.
