He obviously liked McLaughlin and Hendrix, but always sounds like no one else. Odyssey and Whenever I Seem To Be Far Away were the gateway albums for me. It sure doesn't hurt that most of his albums are on ECM.
Odyssey & the one above were my intros to his work. I do have
Whenever ... on vinyl as well, should probably fire up the TT & give that a spin. Always feel he's taking me on a journey thru the fjords, glaciers, & snow capped mountains of his home. fwiw I have a DVD with him, Miroslav, & Trilok Gurtu (also a newer fave) that is well done.

Was actually one of a 4 disk Wayne Shorter set I picked up.
8 albums for $15 isn't too bad, and so far all good stuff as well. That one in particular is definitely late 50's early 60's classic style. Mind how you go ....
