Yes it is. I have ordered the 12" ultramega woofers and big bump passives for my pair of VMPS smaller subs. Likely overkill, if there is such a thing.

There is no such thing as overkill when it comes to basso profundo. Just for s&g I stuck the woofer from a Velodyne ULD-15 into that gaping yaw, and it sounds damn good. The magnet on that monster is insane, the driver weighs in at 30 lbs! Is that ultramega territory?
