RMAF best of the best

Okay there is now a new paradigm shift in the industry.

Last year a before RMAF I jump out there and made the statement that we would have the best sounding, tightest, and cleanest bass response of any room at the show. I found no one to think otherwise. We nailed it with the open baffle servo subs in the Super-V.

This year we have them in a larger room so they can breath and the front end has taken a  generational leap.

We are so far ahead of the game right now that I will step out there this time and say that I am quite confident that we now have (as of late Friday night) the best sound at the show. It really is that good!

If you visited us on Friday and heard what our room was doing, you still haven't heard it. We are now several levels beyond where we were.

What got us there was a newly installed Mac Mini with hardware and software mods. That coupled with the new Signature series Tranquility DAC sets a new standard for digital. Digital playback really just went off the scale.

I now finally have a front end that allows the Super-V to shine with all the Dodd Audio electronics that I have been using. PI Audio's power conditioning and room treatments also made the room. The diffuser panels are a must have too. What they do for the sound stage is unbelievable.

The entire combination made me and everyone else involved with the room really excited about audio again. Things will no longer be the same.

I listened to this system on Friday, and then went to as many others as I could squeeze in, including some uber expensive rooms. The setup Danny has was simply the best I heard, and it WASN"T EVEN CLOSE! If I didn't have my LS9s, I would get a pair of these super Vs in a heart beat. Dave was telling me that they still hadn't been able to smooth out the room's bass response to their liking, however, what impressed me the most was the holographic imaging that I heard. Layer upon layer of detail that no other room possesed.

As I was returning to the GR room, a total stranger, apparently not knowing where to begin at RMAF, asked me who had a good room. Follow me, I said. Two other guys, also total strangers were curious, and followed us in. I stood in the back, and let them sit up front. Within seconds, they turned around and gave me the biggest grin imaginable!

And it's even better as of Saturday?

It is Saturday, 4:00 am here, and my girlfriend is still trying to talk me into driving to Denver (8 hours one way) for the show. You guys are not making this any easier for me.    :violin:

Must save money for more gear...

I wonder who the new owner of the Super Bumble V's is.  I'm sure someone had to purchase them at RMAF.

Anyone?

Thanks for the invite Perry; assuming one drives the speed limit Edmonton is an 11 hour drive from here, but I can lob off close to two hours under the right conditions.  There's a good possibility I may head up that way next spring or summer.

An update for Sunday...

We ran Gary's very fresh hybrid amps all night to give them some warm up. We also made some other minor tweaks. I think we are now better still.
