Hi Alex,

Any new product will allow for different colour LED's.

Would the BDA-1 be available with all white LED's on front panel and if so how would that be specified at time of order

...i think that any Bryston product in black with the new blue LEDs and blue displays will just look great. a nice "update" by the way...

Congrats to James and to Ian for a job well done at RMAF 2010!

I heard from a very good source that the PMC/Bryston combination sounded truly good!

Good job guys!

AV Guide
Absolute Sound

Niel Gader

Report from RMAF 2010

A little outside my assignment, but one of my favorites, nonetheless, was the Bryston BDP-1 digital player—in essence a Linux-based playback computer designed for connection to an external DAC like Bryston’s own BDA-1.

There’s no internal hard drive to fail because it is designed to handle “USB-anything,” via a variety of front and rear inputs—from thumb drives to external hard drives. It offers terrific isolation between audio and computer components and supports virtually all sample rates up to 24-bit/192kHz.

Price $2150

AudioMatters

Patrick Dillon's musings, reviews and observations on audio gear, music reproduction, the audio industry and the long lasting pleasure of listening.

RMAF -- what I heard

Sunday, October 17, 2010

“Also very good, Bryston ran a very musical set up consisting of their own BCD-1 player, their new transport (BDP-1 Digital Player) and Dac1, BP26/MPS2 Preamp and mono power amps, with PMC IB2 speakers (I think).

I sat next to James Tanner as he controlled the music with an iPhone and Ipad, playing various selections in quick succession. The music was in proportion, sounded pleasing and just somehow right, another reminder that power has its place and quality is not the same as cost.
