This might be a boggler!.I live in a small one room apartment, got a prison like bathroom and tall ceilings.I built a sub woofer from parts from Parts Express. The Titantic woofer, original, brutally enforced cabinet, and a amp called the BASH,made in Canada. Some one said it's what Klipsh uses for their subs. This is a 300 watt,no heat output, very light weight amp for a 150 bucks.I had some prblems with hooking it up.The guy at Parts Express suggested this...2 Y cables,Monsters, from Radio Shack, goldie, good enough. Here goes..the 2 Y cables are plugged into my cd players output. There snug and tight! The cd's output is seperated into 2 different paths. My main amp is a little (BabyDyna-35) putting it's sound to my small monitors, while the other Y cable is feeding the BASH sub amp, which blocks anything signal above 100 hz,or maybe higher, there is a switch for that. The beauty of this is that you can get the great vacuum tube sound of the Dyna, without smearing it thru more electronic components, alas the crossover...I'll take the cable..simple! Before I shut my self off,the best sub woofer tester album I have found is (The Day the Earth Stood Still)Bernard Herrman,1951.I found a re recording by the London Symphony, done in 200?,that will make people in the apt run and cover..Mark Korda
