This is just an FYI for anyone interested in alternative power supplies for the Bugle: The Direct Coupled B1 Buffer (DCB1) based on the Pass B1 Buffer preamp is a diy project that has been going for sometime at diyaudio and, recently, in the Lab forum here. Neat thing is half of the dcb1 board is the shunt-regulated power supply that offers extremely clean power and more than enough current to power a Bugle. The stock voltage is +/- 10v, so it's as simple as using the voltage outputs on the board. No modifications needed.
It's an easy project for anyone with a soldering iron, and even easier since you can ignore the audio section of the board. Cost would probably $50 or so, incl. transformer. The boards are only $15(?). I plan on getting my Bugle up and running with it soon.
I'll add more info and pics when I get mine going. The full buffer build tutorial is in the Lab if you're wondering what the heck I'm going on about.
Just wanted to mention while the boards are still available from the group buy on diyaudio.
