That TT is a bad joke. Denon apparently dismantled their manufacturing capabilities. It's made in China and nowhere near the quality of past tables. Matter of fact, it's identical to the top of the line, (DP-500 I think) that apparently is discontinued. The new one is black instead of brown. The cart is a modified DL-103. $2500

Yup, yup and yup. Denon is just reaching for outsized profits on this one.
The VPI Classis USD$2750 now + cartridge. A really good deck this is (and I'm a fan of direct drive tables, in general)
As well, the new Well Tempered Simplex is either here or coming shortly...for about USD$2100 (another table with a 10.5" arm like the VPI Classic). This is a sensational design that bears watching further for.
If you'd entertain the thought of owning belt drives, there's Origin Live's and even a Townshend Rock 7 in this price range.
Not much available in (new) direct drive's today....but a Technics SL-1200, even with a few add-on upgrades, would leave you lots of dosh for records and other things in your life...and a LOT less than that overpriced Denon.
