Justin charges a little too much for shipping. If it's possible (still waiting for a call back from Dickensheet), could someone please pickup 3 small items for me (1 needs to be packed) for $50? I would send you FedEx labels or have them pickup (either option would be paid by me) for shipping to me.

PM me if you can do this. Thanks.

no offense man, but you have 3 posts.

Justin might be charging more than you like, but he is also picking up and doing quite a bit of work on his side to make all of this possible for all of us out of state guys.

what did you win anyways? i hope your not trying to ship those ls6 cabs through him.

anyways good luck man.

How many posts I have doesn't matter. I'm way more at risk by having someone pick up items I already paid for.

I don't know if he is doing quite a bit of work, but I know he's making a killing on packing and shipping.

Really?  Why should someone risk getting screwed with someone they don't know?

And someone is at risk dealing with nobody knows here at A.C.

Welcome to doing business in the USA.  If you don't like the price, don't purchase it.   :thumb:

A killing?  Seriously?  Have you looked at packing supplies cost and time?  Didn't think so!

Good Luck!

Some people are just stupid. You need my authorization to pick up my items I already paid for. Plus i'm giving you $50 for easy work. The risk is 100% mine unless you're afraid of giving out your phone # through PM.

Yes, seriously, he's making a killing. I know how cheap and easy it is for packing and shipping supplies. You obviously don't.

I agree completely. The one shipping for you has no risk. They have to print your invoice in order to pick up the items and the items will already be paid for.

Exactly, that's why I see nothing wrong with using a little ingenuity in getting the best price.  :)

Your first post was fine ("Justin charges a little too much for shipping"), but it deteriorated quickly from there.  I understand there's no risk, but now I doubt you'll get any takers.

your right, but i still disagree with the whole premise "lack of perperation on my part, makes for an emergency on your part" type of mentality.

i personally have talked to Justin 4-5 times and he has been terrific to deal with and I have no problem giving him the money he derserves, since it is because of him that i was able to participate in this auction. i knew well before i started bidding the costs and fees involved with bidding on an out of state auction ,and decided it was worth the cost, for the items i purchased.

for some of those items like LS6 cabs, it was not worth the cost, and i did not bid on them. but what i did not do was start bidding on items without fully investigating how i would actually get them back to my home.

so, you never did mention what items you ended up grabbing. im sure anyone who might be interested in helping would like to know (so they can be sure to have the space for 12 mfw15 cabs in their minivan )

Why are people beating up on a guy asking for some help from the AC community especially when offering to pay for that help?

The guy said it was 3 small items. So its not 12 mfw's

I wish I was in a position to help. Good luck.

+1

I wish I could help too but I'm too far away.  Also, I wish I was in CO to be able to take advantage of this auction.

I called Justin and he was very nice and he does have to make a living but some of the quotes he gave me for packing were really expensive and I decided not to bid.  Justin is probably in line in terms of the gowing rate for this type of service though but I'm not sure.

Good Luck kcxj

I'd say welcome to AC and my circle but it doesn't look like you got much of a warm welcome so far.

People can be apprehensive sometimes about going out of their way for someone that they don't know. Me personally, I am over trusting.

If there was any way I could help you then I would.

Your best chance of saving a few bucks is to find a local guy headed that way and have him pick your stuff up and ship it to you.

If it wasn't so late in the day then I'd have someone there stick it on one of the pallets headed this way and then I'd ship it to you.

Come on, you guys ease up on him. He just had no idea how much shipping and handling cost can really be.

And kcxj, if you had someone pick it up for you and ship it then you might save $20.00 at the most.

I sent a PM to him almost two hours ago offering to help. I never heard back. My 1000+ lbs are being picked up right now.  :thumb:

Saw some of your stuff today, Danny. The LS6 crossovers were oh so tempting (He wouldn't miss just two would he?)  j/k   :thumb: Hope a nice package deal with these crossovers and your ordered drivers is coming our way.  :green:

I managed to get a pair of rosewood LS6's, a rosewood MFW-15 complete w/ amp (which very well might not work) from Tyman67? who was there picking up the gazillion MFW's he bought and he graciously sold me one on the spot (THANK YOU!!!) and a few drivers into my RAV4. I had to unbox one of the LS6's so that I could breath while driving home (drivers seat all the way up with LS6 in box). I DID manage to get the double boxes they came in folded up and on top of everything...great to have for storage and especially for possible shipping...but not without a fight.  :o

Some comments about what I saw:
- man those UFW-12 drivers (lot 234) are nice looking!!! Don't have a clue how they sound, but they were brand new in plastic and looked great...heavy beasts too. The 2 big boxes that had like 24 of them each had a note that said "new smooth" I think. So, I'm guessing these are the latest drivers for UFW-12's?
- The LS6's were in boxes and banded on a pallet but not all were unopened. I know this because mine had a piece of tape on the outer box that said "bottom front veneer cracking".  I didn't look at all the LS6's, but the other two satin rosewood ones on my pallet had no such notes.  :duh: I did take the cotton sock off enough to see that it wasn't a big deal...especially at the trivial price I paid.
- Both working H34's looked in great shape!
- There was only ONE birds eye maple Ref 1 speaker. I started bidding on that thinking it was a pair and then it hit me before the bidding ended that there was just that one. Sorry if I made someone go higher on that one because of it, but I was very happy to see someone outbid me there!
- Quite a few of the MFW's DID have amps as mentined by milehighguy. Now whether they work or not... Some of them had the center dust cover? of the woofers dented in (mind included) but I hope that will pop out OK.

You didn't happen to see 15 LS woofers?  I haven't heard from Justin yet...

I saw them, but didn't count them. Plus, I was there from about 10am-12Noon, so he very well may have showed up after I left.

I saw your 15 woofers today at about 2 pm. I even counted them again for "approximately" the fourth time. Still 15 there. Can't say what may have happened to them after that time. I was a little concerned because my 2 boxes of numerous green interconnects was missing. The guy from the auction did a great job in helping me look for them, and I was very lucky to discover that a gentleman from Boulder CO. had got them by mistake. He gave me his number so I can call and get them later. In general, people were very pleasant, honest, and helpfull to each other. There was the risk of theft however, since everyone was on the honor system to get their items with no check if someone happened to grab someone else's items. But like I said, it was a great bunch of folks, so hopefully that didn't happen.

Actually, the guy in the red T-shirt did check our lists earlier on in the day to ensure that we were only taking what we bought. But, yes, it would have been easy to swipe something else if you really wanted to.
