No, can't really complain at $149.  Besides, you just have to love the display.

If there are any Kindle users, this blog here often lists free books available on amazon: http://findebookreaders.com/blog/

Well, I couldn't justify the expense of the iPad.  If it had more computer-like features (like a true USB port), I'd have considered it.  However, as a household with three computers (one a laptop), and a wife that wants to read books primarily, I can't figure out what to do with the iPad and it's simply too expensive for the 3G version.  So, I bought the wife a 3G Kindle, although this is back ordered to the extent they don't tell you an approximate date when it's going to come in.

Yup.  The kindle has at least a full 1/10th the free stuff the nook has.

I'm sure the blog will list nook freebies if they are not normally free, just as they do for the kindle, although I haven't seen any yet.   No need to feel left out and no need to be defensive on my account..  Just pointing out a useful blog.  Lots of ereader news on it, including interviews with officers of e ink holdings.

I don't have nook or kindle, but Im sure at least ctviggen will appreciate ther kindle freebies.

They conceal the list in obscure and hard to find locations like their facebook page and website as well as on the device itself .
