I just built a bugle!
« on: 12 Jun 2010, 10:22 pm »
Ok i have been haveing a hum issue with my cornet 2.So i also had bought the bugle board awile back to use with my fisher 500c.I thought why not spend a afternoon and try the bugle out to see if i could get hum free lp play.Well i just finished.Wow!what a value!!!It's silent and sound's great too.
I learned something too as i only had left over cap's to use for this project. The thing flat out sound's amazing for what it cost's.Usually i use auricap's
Does anyone know of a on off switch that could be chassis mounted and used instead of the stock switch?
I made mine in a hammond aluminium case that i had used for my old cornet 2.I want a on off switch for the front. It's the 6 prong's on the stock peice that's throwing me off.I have a on off switch i could use but it does not have 6 prongs.I has 3 i think?

Cool, post some pictures!  I use the Bugle's power supply for my DIY Curcio designed RIAA phono...

Is the Curico gain set for MM or MC gain, and how does it sound?

I think the Curcio sounds amazing!  I've had the Jolida phono, the Musical Surrounding, and a Diva audio tube as well as the Odyssey Tempest phono, and I think it sounds best of them all!  It's very detailed and full bodied, not warm but very musical!  I love it!  A friend is working on a board for it and it may / could become a production run of sort...

If you're in the Bay Area, let me know...I can have you over or anyone else...

So is that the 'Sarah' Curico with the Bugle power section?

What tubes in the Curico?

No, it's not the "Sarah", it's the RIAA Phono Pre - Passive/Active EQ designed by Curcio for use with the National Semi Conductor chips LM49710.  A good friend found the design, built it first and I liked it so much he help me build one for myself!

NO TUBES...

Here's a pic of the inside:
