I can understand your thoughts that more power is always better.
My 4b’s since the upgrade have opened up.
I can hear my speaker’s take a breath of fresh air.
1)Mids and lows very happy seems like the new capacitors have or need less volume.
2)Bass is smooth with more detail.
3)Highs are clean rich with more detail.
4)Separation of the instruments is more profound much more detail.

Hi Robert
Hi
There is actually an upgrade conundrum in the path between the 4B and 14/7B. The 4B undoubtedly needs the Torus, You can hear
the compression if its plugged into the wall. The 4B and torus are excellent together and its a clear upgrade strategy. But the new 14Bs have the same transformer
that the Torus use. That transformer allows the amp to breath effortlessly (clearly audible). Any body with a 4B and a Torus
knows what i am talking about.
The conundrum is that the 14B/7B doesnt need the torus for that reason anymore. And the price for the rm20 and the 4B are what
you would pay for a 14B approx. Having owned both the 14B and the 4B/torus, the 14B really is an different league than the 4B/Torus combo. And the 4B is phenomenal, you wander
how it can get any better, until you go higher up the Bryston line.
So its kinda screwy right now with these transformer upgrades 14B and up. I personally don't like the 14B plugged into the Torus anymore. Its Brings the
soundstage to far up and you kinda loose depth.
