You could've used the very best method.  http://www.starbrite.com/productdetail.cfm?ID=1076&ProductCat=Home%20Care&ProductSCat=Liquid%20Electric%20Tape%20(Home)&ProductSSCat=

Wow, and all of these years I have considered 3M the best electricians tape.  Well, at least the 3M can hang on your toolbelt!

Best,

I've used that stuff. It works OK but it's messy and toxic. Don't get any on your skin! :nono: You'll need 80 grit sandpaper and some solvent to get it off. :x

The Electra Cable connectors appear to be a very nice product, but I do have one question about using them. If you install these connectors in your speaker cabinets and then later on decide to  move your speakers to another room then what do you do about the male connectors? Can you buy the male connectors seperately? If so, how much do they cost?

Ron, I think I read earlier in this thread, if you wanted to use them, regular bananas fit.

Additional male studs are $2.50 each.

Thanks for the replies. Danny, will standard banana work too or do you have to use the Electra Cable male studs?

You can use a standard banana plug, but it is not as good (not as direct) of a connection as the Electra stud.

I don't have them on the web site yet (like several other things right now), but I do have them in stock. I still have a few blems left that I ran on sale too.

Daisy chain the wire from one set of studs to the next.

I am really liking them and getting great feedback on them. They are all that I am using now.

I even have one of my commercial clients using them in their new product line.

Wow, and all of these years I have considered 3M the best electricians tape.
At 3M, we DO make the world's best electrical tape.  Our premium is the only one that will withstand temp extremes and is used by electricians the world over.  Expensive because of the premium ingredients (incredible complex), but it performs.
Shameless, ain't I?  Hey, today is my 31st anniversary at 3M, so cut me some slack.
Danny, I think I'll try these new connectors on my next speaker build.
