When Iggy and the Stooges emerged from Detroit in the late 60s, they played harder and with more fierce intensity than anyone out there. The Stooges made three records before breaking up for nearly 30 years. The last one is Raw Power, and it became a standard for punk and hard rock to follow. In this one-hour radio special, you'll hear about the creation and influence of Raw Power from Stooges Iggy Pop, James Williamson and Mike Watt, as well as musicians Henry Rollins and Johnny Marr and photographer Mick Rock. Hosted by Jon Langford.

There is sure a lot about Iggy lately. Bob Gendron wrote an article about The Stooges 1973 album Raw Power in the most recent TONEAudio issue 28. The Stooges recent induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. A re-mastered Raw Power is released and now the Jon Langford (The Mekons, Waco Brothers) four part series on how this seminal album was made, and how it influenced future generations of punk rockers.

Not everybody was able to listen to KXCI's broadcast of Jon Langford's documentary but I was able to track it down at Legacy Podcasts http://podcasts.legacyrecordings.com/rock/iggy, it looks like part 4 hasn't been posted yet. Enjoy.
