Deal of the day

Here is a killer deal for any of you guys that have wanted to get into open baffle bass, subs, or the bottom section of an open baffle speaker.

I bought a pallet load of these Eminence Acoustinator woofers.

http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=290-894&FTR=290-894&CFID=11041007&CFTOKEN=61376065

I use them in my V2 kit: http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=71532.0

The woofers on the bottom of the pallet allowed some of the card board bottom to touch some of the surrounds and push around some of the cork edges that is attached to the frames.

I have hooked all of these up and stretched the surrounds back out and they are seem to play fine.

Here is a group of them all hooked up and playing:

They have some blemishes though and I can't sell them as new. So here is what I am going to do.

If you order one of our new SA-1 amps that are used to power the lower section of our V-2 kit for $129 each...

See amp details here: http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=78931.0

Then I will sell you the blemished Acoustinator woofers for $25 each. You can power two of the woofers (in parallel) with each amp. So if you want four of the woofers then you'll need two of the amps. The woofer work great in W or H frame open baffle designs.

How's that for a smoking good deal?  :thumb:

What would shipping be to 11222 for X1 amp and X2 woofers?

how would this set up compare to a open baffel servo set up. I know the price is more than half of a servo set up. I'm starting to build a set of ob-7's and thought that a servo set up was sub to use with that set up but at this price just don't want to wish i would have spent the extra money.

You are looking at about $34 in shipping to Chicago.

The bass is really clean and has really good extension, but won't play as low, hit as hard (SPL) or have the same level of control as the servo subs. The servo subs are at a higher level across the board.

The servo subs are amazing.  If you have to wait a few months to save the extra bit, do it.

I like the servo sub so much look at my gallery and look what I did.   :duh:

Sorry Danny but I haven't heard a better sub then the Servo and think it's worth the wait if it's feasible.

Danny
that is Brooklyn, New York.
PM the total and I'll send you the funds for 2 woofers and 1 plate amp.

Thanks

You are correct. I must have still had the Chicago city in there from my last quote.

If you just want two woofers and one amp then shipping is only $24.50.

So $129 for the amp and $50 for the two woofers plus $24.5 is $203.50.

Dang, that is a good deal.

Seems like these would be very good candidates for a Swarm multiple sub setup at a bargain price. :thumb:

It should become a second nature for someone involved with "Cheap and Cheerful hifi".

(it is like getting two drivers and plate amp for free. Pretty cheerful ....., to me )

I'm now vacillating between getting these and starting a Swarm like setup or going for the servo subs. I'd probably keep my ACI Titan to add to the mix.

Danny,
I will take another set to my same card, that is a great deal and I think two of these will work nicely in my room.

Thanks,

can you hold another pair of those for a week or two (+amp)

Not sure if one sub will be enough to fill my space the way I want to.

If you can not or won't, I understand.

Danny,
Got my set today, thanks.  :thumb:

What are you planning on using in the V2 kit for hooking up the subs to the amp?
Looking at the gauge of the output wires from the amp I am thinking maybe a standard binding post instead of Speakons.

Also, these are my first OB subs are they supposed to be wired out of phase. I seem to recall that.
