I have been lurking there for a couple years now.  I may have to speak up.  Thanks for the invite!

But what really sent me to Nirvana was when my wife offered to let me try her Bryston integrated amp (st100?). Much fuller bass, creamy midrange and greater high end detail but without that element of hard edge that had remained with my previous electronics. It was a revelation.

Not to worry, if your wife won't let you borrow hers I can get you one of your own as I am also a BRYSTON dealer.  Many of my VMPS customers use BRYSTON amps and Preamps and couldn't be happier.

If you think the 180w of the B-100SST lights up you VMPS you ought to hear the 4BSST2  and 500w :eyebrows:

Ho! I know sales are tough but geez John. Many front ends will make them sing, but placement and adjustment is king. Your room has a lot to say.

100% true.  With the flexibility of the adjustments on the VMPS speakers, most all good amps will be heard to their best.

That may be one of the more remarkable things about B's designs.

If an amp has adequate power, amperage, low distortion, good damping, good slewing, stability, and accurate FR, it will sound pretty good when well tuned with VMPS.

I have heard some pretty nice sonics coming from even the big AVR's. :o

:eyebrows: Yes John, very human of you. Some AVR's can be dialed for Very good clean 2 channel. Enough balls and those speakers will sing.

Latest update:
Friday I took delivery of a Bel Canto pre6 multichannel preamp. I have been using two stereo preamps in my poor man's approach to surround/ quad. The move to a mc preamp has been part of the plan for sometime.

This is a nice unit!  There was a bit of setup on the front end with setting levels and offsets. I got through that ok. The toughest part was hooking up short cables with a heavy unit halfway slid into the rack. (SolidSteel which I highly recommend - very stable, 3point cone support for all the shelves).

I spent a fair amount of time listening this weekend and I am very happy with the sounds I heard from my system, and the rm30's in particular. The bel canto unit sweetened the sound ever so slightly and that made all the difference

I did not get around to trying the BC with the power supply section of my wife's Bryston. I'll try that next weekend. But for now I am thrilled.

Update:

These speakers continue to amaze.  I spent some time with placement with particular attention paid to toe in.  Minimizing toe in widened the soundstage considerably.  Tilting the speakers up paid dividends.  I used a few pieces of wood under the front of the base, but switched to using golf balls and that gave better results.  Titelists were preferrable to other brands providing more imaging height and greater throw in the soundfield.

I also have a Bryston 4bsst2 on the way.  Thank you John Casler for all of your help and pointers with the RM30's.  Once that is in place I will likely have more thoughts to share here.

Oh, and I also have a pioneer elite monitor on its way.  So lots of good stuff soon.
