Your going to "The Island" and can take 10 Albums/CD's/Cassettes/8tracks...your favorite
10 TOTAL

This list changes often for me...this week it's the following:
Radiohead - The Bends
Nas - Illmatic
Led Zeppelin - II
The Roots - Illadelph Halflife
Grateful Dead - Filmore East '71
Jimi Hendrix - Band of Gypsies
BIG - Ready to Die
Lupe Fiasco - Lupe Fiasco's The Cool
Mos Def - Black on Both Sides
Sublime - Sublime

The Jam - In the City
Led Zeppelin - I
Lou Reed - New Sensations
Wire - 154
The Yardbirds - Roger the Engineer
The National - Boxer
The Lyres - A Promise is a Promise
Big Star - 3rd
Digital Underground - Sex Packets
Midnight Oil - Diesel & Dust
I'm sure you'd get a different list on a different day - also if I really had to pick I'd probably choose some collections like "Direction Reaction Creation" by The Jam, which includes all their albums, but that seems a little like cheating.

bunnyma357- collections are not cheating if its a 2,3 cd/album/cassette/8track set it counts as 1
This is great as it gives me some new artists to check out...

In no particular order,
The all progressive list:
Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway
King Crimson - Larks Tongue in Aspic
Gentle Giant - In A Glass House
Banco - Io Sono Nato Libero
PFM - Per Un Amico
Anglagard - Epilog
National Health - Of Queues and Cures
Deus Ex Machina - Equilibrismo da Insofferenza
Il Balleto Di Bronzo - YS
Magma - KA
Wait...I can't even get any Mahavishnu Orchestra, Return to Forvever, Weather Report on my list. Not to mention all the great Stravinsky, Ligheti, Penderecki, Webern...
How can 'A Love Supreme' not be on my list?!
Oh hell, this is impossible to narrow down to just 10! I'd have to cheat.
Sorry, but asking true music lovers to narrow their entire collections to 10 is worse torture than just about anything. This should be 'Top 10 from each genre'.

I'll just take my swimming trunks...enjoy the white sands, the clear blue water...if I want to hear music, will stay home or go to a concert.
Listen to the natural sounds of the Island...hope its far away from everything.

I'd rather go with nothing than take only 10. That's less than 1% of my collection. I'd always doubt my decision
and I'd quickly grow bored with what would normally be some of my favorite recordings. Too painful to think about

After reading some of the posts I would have to agree with the following statements
The next ten could change daily though

I've already swapped out 3 or 4 in my head, its an exercise in futility, but I got some great ideas for new music!!!!!
Taking just one might cause a riot!!!
