Lots of potential here. I think various froms of spirits should be tested......12 yr, 18 yr, 21 yr. etc.

   I saw that cryoparts (Lee) made the last post here and just had to see what he said...   :eyebrows:

I really wanted to see the cryo on these cables!

Great job, Wayner. Is the water breaking in nicely?

Have fun,
Jerry

Steve is close to the secret formula. Yes there is table salt in the solution, along with a small amount of isopropyl alcohol to retard any kinds of algae growth as these cables are sealed for ever.

What would be interesting is to get some copper plating solution (that they have at my previous employ) and make some cables out of that stuff, but then, they might actually work good.

These work pretty good, aside from the high resistance (low conductance), but do tend to take away that nice twinkle and space in the recording.

I also like the beverage suggestions.

Have a nice weekend.

Sweet Wayner, that's thinking outside the box. Such engineering prowess should not go to waste. How about a Lava Lamp type model ?  8)

Design an amp for use with water ICs using antifreeze to cool the heat sinks. 2 fluids are better than 1. Can't have too much of a good thing, right?

I was thinking if you could make a lava light inside your cables, it could be very groovy :D

I could go with a larger cable, then put a cable inside a cable (if you will) and run some LED rope lights thru the center. I was thinking of coloring the left and right hand cables, but couldn't find the wife's food coloring.

Wayner, do you know if you need flood insurance to cover damages if they leak, or will homeowners take care of it?

That's why I've always been leary of water cooling computers with hardware that uses tubing and clamps versus coolant in sealed (soldered) copper piping.

I have hillarious visions of Wayner rocking out to his tunes, overdriving the Aqua's, and having high-pressure steam spewing at the back panel!

Wayner....

It was either 2008 or 2009 RMAF....I forgot which...

While roaming the halls with Captain Humble/Jeff,visiting the many audio rooms, we struck up a conversation with a fellow from Texas who was Dealer/Distributor for a cable company whose "claim to fame" is a different type of cable...."liquid metal technology".

Didn't get to hear or see it....but your Aqua/liquid cable jogged my memory... :duh:

Here's the link.....Teo Audio...

That's why I've always been leary of water cooling computers with hardware that uses tubing and clamps versus coolant in sealed (soldered) copper piping.

I've seen water-cooled tape drives that were plumbed with plastic tubing, and they never leaked as far as I know.

I was in the new Data Center of a large bank last year, and they used chilled water piped to each individual rack. The racks were sealed and had their own air circulation system with a small "radiator" for the water to flow through.) The water flowed through plastic tubing to and from the racks, as well as inside the racks.

I've heard some equipment that sounded like the designer was all wet. :)
