I'm also an Ovechkin fan but Sid the Kid has a little something that Alex doesn't. I'll give you one guess...
Let's hope the nitwits at NBC will put it on REGULAR television with HD, not that lame-ass MSNBC or CNBC! Cheers,J
Actually DirecTv has CNBC HD but not mnbc. There's less commercials on these channels than primetime NBC and these channels have shown whole sporting events, not chopped processed network TV versions. Cheers,Robin
Hi Robin, I have cable and can't get those channels in HD! This sucks because hockey is so much better in HD. I may have to get Direct TV sometime. Cheers,J
As I predicted in my earlier post, Canada won the game. During the game, I noticed a sign in the audience that read "Hockey, Canada's Game". There was no doubt from the opening drop of the puck, the Canadian squad was on a mission. They played with a lot of energy, pride and determination to blow the Russians off the Ice. Canada dominated and played their best game of the tournement. That's the Canadian team I thought or at least hoped to see! As for Ovechkin, he played one of the worst games I have ever seen him play. He didn't score, produce any assists or do anything to help his team stay in this game. It appeared Ovechkin was more interested in cheap-shotting players (like that cheap crosscheck he put on Crosby away from the play in the second period) than playing the high caliber hockey he is capable of playing. He's a star and will continue to be a dominant force in the NHL, but tonight's hockey really looked like Canada's game. Congrats! I'm totally biased but Ice Hockey is the only event I REALLY enjoy in this Olympic season. I've watched ski events, snowboard (Shawn White is insanely good), figure skating (Evan Lysacek went to the highschool a block from my house), and a bit of curling (wtf!?), but hockey is the only event I'd pay to see. Tonight's game wasn't great but the better team won and it sets up a potentially exciting matchup with the US. I hope the gold medal game is US versus Canada! Let's hope the nitwits at NBC will put it on REGULAR television with HD, not that lame-ass MSNBC or CNBC! Cheers,J
, yeah, you can even see that damn puck in HD. You owe it to yourself to make the move to HD, especially if you're a hockey fan. Cheers,Robin
Hey I am now two blocks from Evan's high school, but also prefer hockey. This result is expected after the series of games that Canada lost to Russians, particularly after the last year's world championship final in Quebec on the 100th anniversary of hockey (4:5 in overtime?). I also think now that Canada is gonna get gold no matter whom they play.
Hey, are we neighbors? I thought I was the only audiofool in the neighborhood. Hard to pick against Canada but I have to go with US and A! Patrick Kane is going to score the winning goal! Cheers,J
I doubt Canadian TV would break away from this game for anything.
