BDA-1: Strange problem when in standby mode
« on: 21 Feb 2010, 08:17 am »
Hello,

I own a Bryston BDA-1 and I encounter the following strange problem: when it is in standby mode (standby led is lit red), sometimes, the Up-sample led starts to blink for a few seconds. When the Up-sample led starts to blink, sometimes, the standby led also starts to blink...

Do you know this problem? How can I solve it?

Thank you!

Satbox,

remove the power cable from the BDA and wait a few minutes. it should be ok then. my BDA had the same issue. i guess it's a software thing...

James,

just to get it right:
the blinking thing appeared when i turned the BDA off. that was 2 or 3 times. after that i unplugged the power cable and the BDA rebooted. the issue was gone then.

Hello James,

At my side, the problem arrives almost daily (not at a set time) and the leds blink at an irregular frequency during 1 or 2 minutes.

At your opinion, is it hardware or software? Let me know if you want that I test something to help you...

Thank you!

Hi satbox,

I took this to engineering but so far blank stares - we will continue to think about what it could be.  You can certainly load new sofware and see if that solves it.

James,

Although it could be an email client setting, some email servers are setup not to accept executable files.  You could try to zip it first.
