I don't know. My house phone is fine, but the GR Research line is not working. I checked the incoming line outside at the box and it is dead there too. I have already put in a call for a repair.

Just post your home number. Don't worry, we promise to abuse it often! :D

Some elderly friends of ours had the same problem today with their home phone going dead. I checked their outside box, and found that it was dead too. The phone company was notified and they just finished checking it out. Problem was found to be in the circuit hub serving the neighborhood they live in. Problem was corrected and their phone is now back on line. Don't know if your problem is the same, but just thought I would pass on the info.

My phone line has been repaired. It was a short in the lines about a block away. I am back and and running again on 940-592-3400.  :thumb:

We got a lot of rain last night and this morning and it has once again caused some problems for our phone service and internet service. It is hit and miss right now so bare with me.

We have reported the problem to AT&T.

You should get an OOMA, then your phone bill would be ZERO dollars.  Port your number.... everything is the same, all you need is internet....   so coolllllllll.

phone over ip, start up company a few years back.  buy the box from Best Buy and then you only pay taxes, unless you want lots of options.  basic ones are free.   best thing i ever did... especially with 5 cell phones, still like to keep one at home for the kids....

We just had some hard rain and it is causing us to have some phone line issues again. Please shoot me an e-mail if you are trying to get through to us and I will give you a call from another line.

Sorry for the problems guys.

The phone lines dried out and I had service last night. Then in about 3 am it rained again. Now I have no service again.

Again, if you need me shoot me an e-mail and I'll give you a call.

Okay, the repair guy found more bad connections and a short in box many blocks away. He thinks he has the problem corrected now. The lines are up and working again.

Sorry again for the problems.

Danny is ignoring you guys' OOMA recommendation.  I plan to check it out.

Clark Howard quote:  "Meanwhile, the June 2012 issue of Consumer Reports rates phone service and AT&T got the lowest score of all 25 companies rated for value and customer service.

The absolute highest score again went to Ooma, the VoIP provider, again for the second year in a row. You buy the Ooma device for $129 - $199 and then pay a $3 monthly FCC pass-through charge and that's it for the life of Ooma."

Actually I called about it last time but had an issue with it. I had multiple lines in different parts of the house and it did not accommodate that. And my credit card machine needs a phone line as well. I will be looking into it again though.

hope it works out for you  2 or 3 separate OOMA accounts would be lots less expensive than AT&T.
I'm just tired of paying AT&T Uverse ~$167 a month for TV, internet and land line, especially since I watch hardly any TV

Sorry for the thread jack

My phone line and Internet access just dropped out again today. Thank you AT@T.

So it might take me a little longer to respond to this weekends emails.
