Hey guys, I'm finishing off a 23x13x8 space in the basement as a dedicated room. Just wondering if anybody has ever used the Ceilume ceiling tiles instead of a traditional drop ceiling. If so, what do you think of them?
I'd think they would work very well acoustically speaking. The thin vinyl should pass frequencies below 500hz or so into the fiberglass that'll be behind them, and certain shapes look as though they would function somewhat as diffusers at frequencies above that.

It is a basement and can get moist, the yellowboard is made for moisture resistance ... but should have the added benefit of being excellent for acoustics. Home Depot here just started carrying Yellowboard.
