Yes it will. You will be able to check your email, browse the internet and buy music from the comfort of your listening chair.
To me, it seems ridiculously expensive to buy a $400 device to control iTunes, but I know people will do this.
Not so. Email is always active regardless of which app is running. And you can play content from iTunes while surfing. So yes, all three can be done simultaneously.
Is the above considered multitasking?
Anyone know if I'll be able to run the app Mariusz has mentioned in another thread (basically turning it into an infrared remote to control volume, etc. on audio equip) while at the same time running Amarra/Itunes?
With iPad alone .....I doubt it. If you choose to use another Mac like Mini for exemple (with your iTunes library & Amarra) - yes. Then Mini will do all the heavy work and iPad would simply control it via free app from Apple (just like iPod Touch or iPhone). However, I have a feeling that new more advanced apps will be developed ones the iPad hits the streets. Last but not least, I would wait for the 2nd gen. of iPad which may address the issues of productivity and features. BestMariusz
I agree with the recommendation of waiting for the second generation. Apple has a history of making the second generation much more functional than the first, and sometimes even dropping the price a little. Sometimes......

It would be, if you could use to control a headless mini with software like VNC.
It would be, if you could use to control a headless mini with software like VNC. Correct me if I'm wrong. Sure would be cool if it could.
Well... what I meant was to control it like a remote computer not just the limited Itune functions.
