Biwire spades for 4BSST-2
« on: 20 Jan 2010, 05:32 pm »
If I want to run a true biwire setup with the 4BSST-2 with two sets of spade terminated wires at the amp end is there any way to open up(unscrew all the way)  the binding post to accommodate this?  Or will I have to bite the bullet and order one pair terminated in spades and the other in bananas to accomplish this?

Thanks guys!

Hi Isaac - you would have to use spades and bananas:

Thanks for the pic, James. Those are locking bananas, true?

True - because you want an 'air-tight' fit.

James,
What binding posts do you use on the squared amps that accept bananas and spades?
You can PM me if you need to.
Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill,

We use the ones shown in the picture - they are custom gold plated 5-way binding posts.

Question for James.

If i had 2 sets of cables with banana ends and wanted to Bi-wire.

Could I put one set of bananas in the holes were the spades are connected in your picture.

Or would it be better to get a banana to spade adapter. If so any suggestions for such an adapter.

Would probably be better to get the adapters as the hole is not really that large (that's what she said :D)

Some banana plugs allow you to plug a second banana plug into the end of it.
"Piggy-back" style:

These are custom cables(2 separate cables) that already have bananas on them(soldered).

I plan to use them as in the picture James posted above.

So i need to put a banana into the slot where the spade would go.

Unless there is a banana adapter that would allow 2 bananas to be plugged into it.
