dont know a dam thing about how but-i did redo my michaura m55 crossovers and did the ones rick craig sent  with my kit
my joints look good :smoke:  no cold welds

i bought one of these a few weeks ago and it sounded great but made load up sounds i didnt like, so i bought a more expensive philips -i also like it.but it doesnt upsample :nono: the 727 does-24/192

work is going to be slow for a few months(dont matter i will finish a winters worth of work at the job tomorrow  )

so after work i'm going across the street and buy 2 of these-80$ each :bounce:   at target

will play with one and have the other for comparison :!:

first off how do i tell what size the caps are :?: is it printed on them or do i remove and test.

will also try a power cord upgrade- resistors-dampen chasis-rca conectors

any help welcome-

i would say that modifying the philips dvd727 would definatly improve things... as a $100 player must have some cheap and nasty stuff inside!

I liked the title to your thread....Edgar Winter, They Only Come out At Night is a GREAT LP, and one of the hits from it is the instrumental Frankenstein!

Did you title the thread on purpose to match that album?

The diodes would probably be a good candidate to replace, and the power supply caps. If you search for Chris Fraser's page on DI/O mods, that will give you a good idea of the types of parts to look for

Please keep us update don how you go! :thumb:

well the drive is a piece of crap-started skiping after about 6 cds today , the sound is awsome -anyway-
is it possable to add a different drive and use it as a dac?
this might be the best option is it can be done-the chip sounds very good  would make a great dac for 80$
