Well, all this hunting for a new display, and I was assuming that variable outputs were common, as when I bought my 32 inch Vega.
I will buy either the Samsung 42 720p (PN42B450), or the Panny 42 720p (TCP42C1). According to Best Buy online they both have fixed audio outputs (choice of analog or Toslink). I am suspicious that the Panny only has Toslink - I could live with it.
I have a old Panny SAXR-25 I use for the 2.1 HT on the main floor - I currently have the TV as the preamp - so all audio and video connections go through the Vega. That way, my wife needs only to switch inputs on the Vega, and the sound follows - and she only needs to use one remote for the satellite and tv.
I am wondering, would both the Panasonic Plasma and Panny receiver use the same remote codes? IE, if I buy the Panny, could I connect the Toslink from the Plasma to the SAXR-25 and then teach the satellite to control a Panny device, would the volume then work?
Damn no variable outs!
