FS: AV123 X-Omni speakers
« on: 16 Dec 2009, 02:07 pm »
For sale X-Omni speakers in Moho Satin finish, like new condition, purchased new a few weeks ago and only listened a couple of hours. Have box, manual, etc. Decided not to keep these nice speakers. Retail is $550, sell for $200 plus shipping. I'm in Raleigh, NC. I have 100% feedback at audiogon and ebay under vrao81.

Why are you selling them so soon?  Is there something wrong?  Can't you return them if you don't like them?

I don't think they allow returns...I got them on sale and the sales were final..
I just dont listen to them much..I use Onix Ref1 for my main listening.

Good job sts9fan!  I hate to see sellers try to take advantage of an unsuspecting buyer.

I don't know if my (now deleted) post helped you or not but I hope it works out for you.

That's interesting, I preferred the X-Omni's to the Ref 1's.  Personal preference, I suppose.

I preferred the refs to the omnis in a smaller room.

I know about the Nov sale but these have to sell for full asking price.   What $200 speaker is this unique looking and designed by Danny R?  I have not heard them but they have to be worth 200 bucks.  Right?

Interesting...

I designed a pretty significant upgrade for the Ref-1 so know them pretty well also. That being said, if the room allows for placement of the X-Omni's to be at least 3 feet or more away from any wall, then I'd take them over the upgraded Ref-1's in a heartbeat. At the sellers asking price they are a steal.

Normally yes - but when a seller advertises speakers with a retail of $550 and they paid $99 for them new then asking $200 it is just plain dishonest.  Now if they fessed up and said - hey I paid $99 for the pair but I am selling them for $200 then more power to them.  I just don't like seeing less than honest ads.

I fail to see how that is dishonest...a sale price should have nothing to do with the current price of an item. AV123 no longer sells these anyway so I have every right to sell at whatever price I want. A pair of these just sold at a listed price of $282 on audiogon. Compared to that my price is excellent.
Anyway these are sold so this this thread is dead...please delete and move on.

It doesn't matter if they paid $.01 for it.  Someone could give me a pair of speakers for free and I can sell them for what the market will bear.  What I paid or didn't pay for them is no one's business.

Martin, for you to insinuate that there is something dishonest about that is beyond belief.  That accusation will surely come back to haunt DKM Design.

Vrao81, I'm glad you sold them despite what these clueless souls think.

I agree w/ srb. Besides, there was nothing dishonest in what the OP listed in his original post. He never said what he paid for them.

Look, these were a steal @ $99 & they are a steal used @ $200.

Many people wish they had got in that ridiculous price, but they got scarfed up mucho fast.

Just like these did...

PS, I hate people who crap on other people's "for sale" posts. That is far more unethical than what you insinuate this poster did. If you don't like someones price, move on. The market will determine if the price is fair or not w/ or w/o your high & mighty attitudes.

I'm glad they're sold so I am not tempted to buy them my self.
Merry Christmas, vrao.

I've used the Omni's in a larger room where they are well off of the walls.  Same room I now use the O-3's in.  But I am comparing the Omni's to the stock Ref 1.5's here.  Danny's redesigned crossovers for the Refs (aka Ninja mods) are very sweet and sound better in that room.  The Omni's have a better soundstage, but the Ninja'ed Refs are better overall speakers.

Nothing dishonest in what the OP did, and I agree, sell for whatever the market bears.  He didn't in any way imply that he paid full list for them.  If, however, anyone knows av123 they know the list price is nothing more than a joke that no one would ever buy at.  Having said that, when I sold Ref1s on AgoN I always listed the ridiculous av123 list price.  It is the list price.
