Hi Audio Nuts,I made 2 Grado Longhorn cartridges that Frank VanAlstine told how to build in the early 80's in his Audio Basics newsletter, boy, that was fun! This is really sick,I still have in my studio apt.,the 2 lubricants used in the AR turntable mod, where I modified to Franks instruction 2 turntables,my own, which lies dormant, and 1 a long time ago for a freind.I have the Longhorn,somewhere...that is something anyone who put the effort into would (never) throw away.I live in Portland Maine, and there is a hobby shop that deals with motorized models, planes, ect.,monster models, those are my faves, but I swear there was a still good supply of the brass channel metal needed. There was also a gray plastic identical item, used I quess in model railroad dioramas.I will go there tomorrow and investigate. If you read this Frank,I remember the channel brass with clay on the ends acted like a tightrope walkers pole giving balance,in my instance,on the AR table I should get up and running. But are not church bells,or (the Liberty Bell) made of a metal that produces ringing ?Just a thought,it's late tonight but I had to pick your mind...your my audio guru....Dawkus
