I mentioned 5 songs that are favs, and why earlier in the thread.

One of the first songs I ever heard, that I REALLY loved, and wanted to hear over and over was () the theme to SWAT!

Many memories of riding in the very back of the old green 1970 Grand Torino Wagon listening to that song, driving along the Mass Turnpike!

I Want To Hold Your Hand?  Uh-huh, ya'll were bubble gummers then you tripped the light fantastic, didn't ya?  My roomies and I corrupted that to become I Wanna Hold Your Leg!  But, then came Rubber Soul, that needed no corrupting, and on it went.

Joe Henry ? Great Lake
I stumble on Joe Henry by accident. I had taped a show on PBS and the end of the tape picked up part of Joe Henry?s performance on Sessions at West 54th. Loved what I heard and immediately went out and picked up Fuse, which was his new album at the time. The entire album is great, but I just loved the what he did in Great Lake musically as well as lyrically. The scene and emotion, he is able to convey is just outstanding.
?Terry comes in laughing, shakes her coat off, and I just can?t bear to look. Anymore I hear somebody laughing, I just figure I?ve been took.
She stands right behind me with one hand on my back, my eyes are closed. At first I think she speaks to me, but when I hear him say ?Hi?, I say ?oh?, oh.?

William Topley/The Blessing ? Highway 5
My wife turned my on to the Blessing back when we were dating. Just love William Topley?s voice and the entire Prince of the Deep Water album is great.

The Church ? Under The Milkway
This is the song that got me hooked on The Church. I still love that line ?wish I knew what you were looking for, might have known what you would find?

Jethro Tull ? Bungle In the Jungle
This one still brings me back. I can remember listening to this on a little AM radio at my grandfather?s cottage in Manomet, MA.

The Replacements ? Valentine
Paul Westerberg had a way with lyrics and a hook. ?If you were a pill I'd take a handful at my will, and I'd knock you back with something sweet and strong?
The ?mats are still one of the most under appreciated bands of all time. Although when they were around they never did themselves any favors. If you ever saw them live you know what I mean. They were hit and miss, and most likely drunk. I saw them one time after ?Don?t Tell A Soul? came out and ?I?ll be You? was the single, which they decide that night to play at half speed, then they immediately ripped in to and incredible version of the Stones? ?Gimme Shelter?.

Yep, that's what college in the mid-late 60's and the Summer of Love will do to ya.

Hit The Road Jack-Ray Charles

In My Room- Beach Boys

Everything is Coming our Way- Santana,  If you &your wife have a song that you declare yours, well this is ours. Married 34 years now and had our blind piano player at out 25th wedding anniversary surprise us with his rendition . Priceless

Maggot Brain-Funkadelic, this song was played at parties when we couldn't get up off the couches. Hypnotic while taking your mind places it had never gone before and always drew comments like  " What was that?" LOL

Only Fools Rush In- Elvis Presley

First two for me, one good, one bad:

1. Cool Jerk - First great song heard on my brand new FM transistor (single driver!) radio, standing guard at my Safety Boy post, guarding the lives of little tikes crossing the street while dancing like Elaine Bettis.

2. The Name Game - I've not been able to erase this insipid song from my head since the first time I heard it!  :banghead: Arghhhh!!!!
