I would like to use two sources into the coaxial input of my VDA... would a simple RCA Y adapter work ?

no, you would need something that actually switches between the two sources.

Thanks but only one source will be on at any one time...would you still need a switch ??

With so many digital sources being used today I hope CI would look at providing more input options on later models of the VDA or perhaps a switch ??

It will not work properly because of impedance mismatch caused by both devices in parallel.
