Hi,
In commercial systems it is usual for ALL equipment to stay on 24/7/365.
This maintains a more constant operating temp.
Does not strain psus in the power up process.
Reduces power up / down time.
Systems are ready for action 24/7/365.
What it also means is that the systems maintain a constant tonal balance day to day, hour to hour......
I would love to leave my home systems on 24/7/365 but that really is not viable. Cost of running and the"Green" issue are things we should consider.
If I know I am going to have a music evening then I will leave the kit on from the morning. The house is a fairly constant temp so kit is warmed up by the evening.
One thing I do for ALL the amps is use the trigger system to fire them up / down. This then becomes part of the remote control system (Pronto). Most AV amps allow for trigger on systems. I think the PSU for the new Bryston Pre (26) has trigger options - I dont have one of those (YET
)
