Well it's true, this movie did make me deplore the human race! Well, human culture at any rate. And I don't mean any themes raised by the movie itself, I mean that people make and see this kind of stuff. I just think there's something wrong with us when we want to willingly introduce so much filth, gunk, anger, hatred, horror and violence into our lives and call it entertainment. I dunno, maybe it was just because I felt nauseous from motion sickness, but these kind of movies are like 2 hours of trauma. And the filth, what's with the filth!? Everything about this movie was dirty and disgusting! It's like the overly clean look of the 1950s has come full circle and now we're making our films look like they are soaked in motor oil. I think the ratings people are to blame because of their silly aversion to the color red. Now every bit of blood has gotta look blackened.
It is a unique film and I will probably have different feelings about it later on, but right now I found it to be vulgar and ultraviolent. Maybe I am just turning into a fussy old grandmother or something. I can see from the online reviews that I am clearly in the minority.
