NuForce Icon as mono amp?

NuForce Icon as mono amp?

I'm wondering if the Icon could be used as a mono amp.  If you brought a mono signal into both the RCAs via a Y-cable and tied the speaker outputs together, would this pseudo-bridge work?  I'm assuming a nominal 8-ohm speaker.

Unfortunately, this will not work, you'll destroy the Icon's output stage right away.

Ah, then we won't do that.  :nono:

What about running just one channel?  Does it get upset if there's not a load on one channel?
