Wow!  I ordered on Saturday and it's here on Friday.  Can't believe how fast everything arrived.  Now I need to hook it up and start listening...

Wayne.

Your very lucky Wayne.........i also ordered...bought my Bryston from Absolute Audio in Calgary. It took just 2 days short of a month for it to arrive.Very long wait time and horrible condition of the Bryston Boxes when they arrived in reguards to a dirty....grimy black dirt or extreme dust build up on the boxes.....so much so that even now if i even touch the box....black grime or soot(whatever it is) will rub into the skin.........First time in my life ive ever seen a High End product that was packed so `Basically`` and dirty(on the outside)....of course maybe the grime occoured during shipping....who knows, but its almost as if i have to actually wash my Bryston boxes as to not grime my hands up......i feel like im on a Complaint Soap Box here, but has anyone ever felt that Brystons Owners Manuals are the cheapest ones out there?A loosely stapled few sheets? Its almost as if mine were  photo-copied versions shoved into the boxes as an afterthought.Dont get me wrong.....im not looking for Gold Covered....leather binded pages, but for a product that is in the realm of high end and the price we pay.....i expected more.A $199 Sony Reciever has a better looking owners manual lol.,but i digress.....i love the sound and that is the bottom line........Just wish that my 1st Bryston Experience of getting my gear and opening it was much better then it was.

Interesting point - my manual for my 28Bs seems to be out of date (last up-date 2006-12-01). In the spec sheets, it states that the slew rate is 60 volts per microsecond - is it not 120 microvolts per microsecond?

I think that the dirt on the box mostlikely came from the transportation process.

Be well...

Hi Guys,

The dirt would definitely be the transport - strange it would be as bad as you say though.

I agree we could do a better job on the manuals. We are trying to be as environmentally sensitive as possible.  I felt that most people just pitch the manual in the box once things are set up and download a copy of the manual online when needed?

I removed the HT pieces and a rack holding it all and placed my new items where I want them.  I bought a nice little single shelf rack with a 5" lift made by Sanus for the 14B, which tucks up nicely to my stand holding the Plasma, the BP26/MPS2, Rega, Torus and Bluray.  I ran the cables which fit perfectly and then played music constantly for a few days, during which I played around with the speaker placing.  I feel I got it pretty good and then James from Absolute came around and tweek them further.  It turned out that my Kef's like to be firing straight and we found the bass response is better with them firing straight.

The sound is absolutly amazing.  Both the wife and I sit and listen to music that we've heard countless times and it's amazing the extra detail that's in the music that we've never heard before.  I had high end speakers and a high end CD player, so I wouldn't have guessed it could have gotten much better, but it did.

I really appreciate the subtle things in the music, such as the sweeping across a drum, or the plucking of a guitar string and the tendor nuances that come out in vocals.  I also appreciate the ability to sound just as good at high volumes.  I now realize that the ear hears loudness as distortion and when the music is loud and clear, you don't realize how loud it is until you try to say something to someone and then you can't hear them speaking, or at one time when I had it turned up to 2 O'clock, I couldn't hear my own voice...  I'm sure the neighbours are loving me...

Wayne.

I don't buy Bryston to run across the street and show my neighbor the box or the manual ... I buy it for other reasons.
The simpler the better. One of my surgical mentors reminded me every day "Keep it Simple Stupid"
I think Bryston has exactly the right idea: just what is necessary and sufficient and no more. Leather manual makes no sense. If it were not a downloadable pdf in 21st century, I would be up in arms.  Anything else would be absolutely unnecessary.
... so if I were Bryston I would not change a thing.
James et al: thank you for getting it. Just the music ... just the music and no more.
Humbly yours;

Hello SF,

Want a one up?

My Argentum Acoustics cables came in what looks and smells like a leather padded, lockable, lined box. What a pretty box it is, what a shame I am only going to use it once. Are they trying to appeal to an individuals vanity? I am buying the cables - I do not care about their pretty product packaging.

They make awesome cables and that is all I am interested in.

I thought that the pretty boxes was way over the top :nono:

I purchased these cables because they were used during my audition and I enjoyed the sound, after all, the demo is everything aa

Great observation SF!

Does anyone want to purchase a pretty box, it was only used once :thankyou:

Be well

LOL...you dont buy Bryston to run accross the street and show/tell your friends about the manual or box?....not even your Surgical Mentor Friend?oh come now lol.....anyway...as i said in my previous post ......"im not looking for Gold Covered....leather binded pages"....so i am not sure why you said "Leather Manual makes no sense".....unless you just pulled it out of the blue and wanted to make a random comment about a leather manual.......and why would you be "up in arms if  it were not a downloadable pdf in 21st century"?....i mean why not no manual for you at all?"?After all ......the advice of your Surgical Mentor "Keep it simple stupid"......according to you......"Anything else would be absolutely unnecessary."................James Tanner himeslf stated "I agree we could do a better job on the manuals. We are trying to be as environmentally sensitive as possible. .........
Its almost as if you were offended or took my Manual comment to heart LOL...........Sir you made me laugh....."Keep it simple Stupid":):)
