As my system is all in 19 inch racks my units need to be 19 inch wide.

The SSTC series comes in 19 inc wide but without racking holes (As I understand)

This is a real shame as the fronts do look amazing and almost space age when compared to the standard SST front.

So All mine are the SST front, As nothing else in the rack has handles or anything "major" or "solid" sticking forward the Bryston I think will look a little out of place - or maybe just stand out more.

I do like to walk into a room and see a Bryston amp shouting "HERE I AM", but I have been thinking about asthetics recently and maybe its time for me to consider looks as well as quailty ???

Any way I will post pictures of the kit racked up and see if people change their mind with a number racked up..........(OR maybe I change my mind)



I am off to buy soft pastal coloured loo roll, fluffly cushions, pretty flowers and co ordinated items..............ARRRGGGHHH!!!!!  I must stop drinking Bud Lite.

I think you Might Have to Take To James  

You know what I mean !

I just love the Black Look 17" all the way. My Rack will support 19" but I like the look of 17"

I love the look of the current stuff, except the BP16/B100/SP2 stuff.  Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all, but I just can't warm up to the looks of that faceplate.

As far as with or without the handles on the 19" stuff, I vote with.  To complicate matters more, I like the smaller amps in 17" flat, and the bigger stuff in 19" with handles.

Now I'm starting to feel like a decorator...

Hey folks

I cant decide if i prefer silver or black. which leads me to my next question. I know faceplates can be replaced on 4b's. James I was wandering if i can get a half black and half silver faceplate for a 4b?  I would like to get it diagonaly halved. Although right down the middle would be nice too.

HI Alex,

Yes they can not be used as new again so they are usually kept by the customer. Some use them as a wall plague.

Hi,

Well if you have the SST or SST Pro series this is possibl (NOT the C series, unless a custom job)

The SST series is mad from 3 seperate panels. Top With "Bryston", Center with LEDs, Lower plate with power switch.

So you could have a silver center section which I think I would like In my 2ch System.



James - Whats the USA price of a SST (non C) series front, also the BCD1 front......

I keep looking for BCD1's but find silver ones, so considering silver and a change of front.

I do buy most of my kit second hand, slowly buying newer and newer but as I have 10+ Brystons amps its expensive !!! (Although someone keeps shouting 28B in my ear  :o )

So the options for different fronts is ecellent.

ALSO I think the SST series can change to SSTC front , I have not done that yet, But would consider.......

So many options......

Hi Andy,

The faceplate prices differ but generally preamps are about $100 , the knobs another $100 and small power amps $200, the large poweramps $300 and a set of handles $100.

Sounds like you can get a mix of Black and Silver face or Knobs for the pre / dac / cd.

For your C series amp either silver or Black is the option.

Although if you can fit an SST series then you could have dual colour.


James will confirm this for sure but I think I am right with that info.

HI,
