Chickenfoot, the new band comprising ex-Van Halen-ers Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony, guitar-shredding legend Joe Satriani, and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.

New album out today and they are on Conan tonight.

I've been awaiting this release since I heard a single on KLOS, the LA classic rock station.

They just played the Roxy on May 19th, but the tickets were sold out when I started looking for them in early April.

In the interim, several songs are on their myspace page.

Have fun,
Jerry

Just picked this up this evening on vinyl from BestBuy. I haven't heard any of the songs since I don't listen (normally) to commercial radio. That said, I'm a Sammy fan.

Just spinning through the first couple of songs on side one of this double album...it's not too bad at all. The pressing quality isn't too bad, not stellar like the Cream Reunion but considerably better than the new U2 release on vinyl (which sucks like a Hoover BTW). Overall clarity is decent, bass is pretty even with the rest of the mix, drums & cymbals are compressed and gated do death but that is almost second nature for a "modern" recording anymore.

All in all, some pretty good rockin' tunes and a pretty fair vinyl pressing for 19 clams. Then again, I'm a Sammy fan so I can overlook some short comings.

been listening to it this afternoon and they sound a lot like van halen on 0U812. a decent generic rock album, compressed and commercial to say the least, but nothing new. hope they're better live.

I bought this and gave it a listen last night.  I am not very impressed.  Maybe I'll have to give it more time, but I found it to be a bit boring.  I wasn't paying very close attention though.

This is about the music content not the sound quality which is how I judge an album.  I wished sound quality was better on most albums, but that doesn't influence whether I like an album or not.  For me its about the music, not the audiophile appeal.
