laptop as a squeezebox remote
« on: 23 May 2009, 01:45 am »
I just got a laptop and I would like to use it as a remote control for my squeezebox.
Is there a "how-to" around somewhere that I can use??

I hope it is going well rtate!

http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=61597.0 - this is a thread that I started, when I was looking for ideas on how to get my wifi Blackberry Bold to control my SB3.

mgalusha points out how to enter the IP address of your SB3 into a browser, and make it happen.

It will work for your laptop too.

All the best,

Just point your laptop web browser to SqueezeCenter GUI.  It's just like you would if you pointed a Nokia or anything else at it, except no need for emulation or skin cuz you have a normal laptop.  It's found by knowing the IP address of your loaded SC (probably 192.168.1.something, then adding "colon 9000" i.e :9000 )
