I simply love these amps, but in July I am moving to NJ, so I dont know how much room will I have for these.
One of them had some top plate damage (bending) due to shipping, but its just cosmetic.
This is the blurb from the seller/guy I traded with.I had been reading an article in the first issue of “Sound Practices” about the famous Western Electric 91A single ended 300B tube amplifier written by Joe Roberts ie “the Joe List”.
While looking at the Angela Instruments website angeladotcom I noticed that Steve offered a schematic and parts to build a version of this amplifier.
I built these two mono block amps using mostly components from Angela Instruments including:
Oil/Polyprop 15uF, 30uF and 50uF capacitors, (Large oil filled cans on top of chassis)
Angela/Jensen/Audio Note .22/630V Paper in Oil Copper Foil Coupling capacitors
Angela/SCR Solen Fast Cap Metallized Polypropylene capacitors,
Angela Universal Power Transformer wired for 120V and Sophia Electric 300B Output Transformers designed for their mesh plate tubes with 4 and 8 ohm secondary.
The tube lineup is: Full Music (Sophia Electric) Mesh Plate 300B
Mullard GZ37 Rectifier
Sylvania 6SJ7
I will include a second NOS pair of Sylvania 6SJ7 and Mullard GZ37
The amplifiers have Sophia Electric Mesh Plate 300B tubes and matching Sophia Electric single ended output transformers. These transformers weigh about 13 lbs each.
Price: 750.00 dollars. Plus shipping
