pilot fm660 mono tuna - free - yust pay shipping
« on: 7 May 2009, 08:31 pm »
hi all,

well, i found another pilot tuna that had a working meter to replace the meter
in my fa-680 - a pilot fm660. this 3-gang mono fm-only tuna w/mpx output looks
fair, and should work properly, according to the seller. i only made sure the
meter worked; i didn't actually hook it up to my rig to play it. the meter
*did* indicate i was getting reception when tuning... anyway, if anyone wants
it, i will be happy to let them have it for the cost of shipping via fedex from
21701.

if it sounds anything like my pilot fa680 and 580, it should sound superb - its
construction looks wery similar; seller says it has 5 if/limiter stages. first
come, first served! oh yeah - the tuning meter doesn't work. ;~)

ps - for those not "in the know", a tuna like this, w/a decent mpx decoder, will riwal the wery best sounding "holy grail" tunas, like sansui tu-x1, etc...  amhik...   aa

this tuna is still awailable, if anyone wants it.  i have hooked it up, and been listening for the past coupla days - truly fantastic sound, thru a studio-12 mpx decoder, for stereo.  decent sensitivity, for a tubed tuna. sensitivity is not up there w/the best solid state iterations, but the sound is.   :thumb:
