Sorry, both "fat base" GZ34/5AR4's have now been sold.  My sincere thanks to the two buyers - BOTH, true Gentlemen!  I hope you get 100,000 hours of use from them both!  (Or MORE!)

Sincerely,

Bill Thomas

Let's make this a *little* more "easy on the wallet."  I have dropped the price on these Xf1's by $25.00 each!  If you have been searching for Xf1's, you have FOUND them at a price well BELOW "market value."  They won't go lower!  These are NOS and test well above nominal new values.  Act quickly!  Once these are gone, there won't be any more available from me!

Sincerely,

Bill Thomas

Hi Bill,

Do you have pics somewhere?

While I normally include pictures of all tubes, my camera does best with sunlight and our local weather isn't co-operating quite yet.  As soon as there's a break in the rain, I'll snap a couple of pictures and post them.  Sorry for the delay.

Sincerely,

Bill Thomas

It *finally* cleared off enough to get a few pictures.  Let's start off with the more expensive tube.  Here's a picture of the tube and box together.  Note that the tongue of the flap on the box is missing.

Here's a picture of the tube's date code.  Hard to make out due to the overprinting, but it has a "B9" date code.

Now, here's the less expensive tube.  It was stored in "less than perfect" conditions, so the box is in much worse condition and the tube is dirty.  I have not attempted to clean the tube so you KNOW what conditions were like when it was in storage.  Also note the oxidation on the pins.  It is a simple matter to remove it, but I wanted you to see the tube in "as stored" condition.  Note that the lettering is slightly distorted as well, due to dampness in storage.

Here's a shot of the date code:

Again, Mullard overprinted the white lettering, but you can see this tube has a "B9" date code as well.  I hope this helps clarify things for you.  Both tubes are NOS and test as new tubes.  One is obviously "prettier" than the other, but both function WELL above nominal new ratings.  The "prettier" tube has perfectly-matched sections, while the "less pretty" tube has a *slight* imblanace - that's why it's $25.00 cheaper!  Either way, I seriously doubt you will find "fat base" NOS GZ34's anywhere else for these prices.

Since these are the "last of the breed" in my inventory, I have to "modify" my 90 day guarantee, because I obviously can't replace them.  If either tube fails within 90 days, you will receive a full refund of the purchase price, as well as the additional shipping amount necessary to return the defective tube to me.

If I can answer any more questions, feel free to contact me at: nostubesforyourdynaco@gmail.com.

Sincerely,

Bill Thomas

Just a reminder,

If you have been searching for "fat base" Mullard GZ34/5AR4's, this is an OUTSTANDING price.  If you will search the major tube sellers, you will find that they have ZERO stock of NOS "fat base" GZ34's.  These are the last two *I* have.  Once they are gone, I won't be trying to acquire any more.

Both tubes are NOS and test well above nominal "new" readings for a GZ34.  Get 'em while you can!

Sincerely,

Bill Thomas

These two "fat base" Mullard GZ34/5AR4's are still available.  You *might* find them elsewhere for double the price.  You WON'T find them for less.  These are NOS tubes.  Get them while you can.

Sincerely,

Bill Thomas

P.S.  Yes, it is a misnomer to call these "Xf1" style rectifiers, but a lot of folks refer to them that way.  The Xf1 designation is actually used for the "fat base" EL34's.  Just so you know *I* know. (lol)

Just a note to let everyone know that the "prettier" of the NOS "fat base" Mullard GZ34/5AR4's has been sold.  The "cosmetically challenged" one is still available, however; it is currently still packed up in a box *somewhere* around here after my recent move.  I am unpacking more tubes this week and *should* have this one available by the second week of October, 2010.

Sincerely,

Bill Thomas

Thanks for the tube, Bill. It is a very nice piece, and you're even nicer.  :thumb:

Thank you MOST kindly, but you *might* be ruining my "rep" as a curmudgeon!  Seriously though, I am SO glad it meets your expectations.  And truly, YOU are the nice person in THIS transaction!  It is a pleasure getting to know you!

Sincerely,

Bill Thomas
