i got to say i think is very cool as well. i just hope that for all the people who have bought tickets to these shows that these guys have been doing there home work and that they are getting there shit together because i can tell from being at there very last show they were not very good. they were all over the place and it was pretty much a mess. and when i say i was at there last show i was standing on stage with them and i can tell you first hand that i was not the only person who said it.

just in case someone wants to bash me for saying this its not that i don't like phish i do, i have seen them 20 times and they very good its just that these guys were having a lot of problems in the past and hope they got past itl an have grown up and come out burn the place down for all of there true phans.

hope its a blast for those of you who are going.

They know they were bad.  I was pissed.  Ruining Glide was terrible.  There is not crying in rock and roll!!

I take the leaking of the Victor Disc the other day as a very cool sign that they are in touch again  :thumb:

I don't think anyone is going to bash you for saying Coventry sucked, because it did.

Even Fish himself said in that NY Times article that Coventry was one of the biggest train wrecks in the history of music.

Great article btw, looks like they will be bringing it tomorrow, I'm pumped for everyone that will be attending (if not a little jealous  :green:).

I would like to throw out that it has been three sets now and there has not been a single cover or Gamehenge tune  :o Divided Sky is technically part of Gamehenge, but not crucial to the narration...

What about Possum?  Similar to Divided Sky I suppose.

Absolutely!! take out the Caspian (one of my least faves) and that is a nearly flawless set.

BTW, for anyone wondering the downloads sound incredible and I just started listening to last night's show and they are playing really well. Page is on point and sounds similar to the '94 type of feel.

Hmmm five minute Pipers and Gumbos aren't exactly mind blowing IMO.

Hopefully they will develop some more improv this summer, as for now these shows were solid but not amazing when listening to them on disc at home.

It is obviously very difficult to capture the experience their on the discs. I find some of the jams, while short, to be extremely impactful and tight. These shows are so far beyond the shows after the first hiatus. These setlists make a statement far beyond just the playing, the boys are back!!

The Ghost > Piper > Birds seque has some good stuff going on; DWD is over 22 minutes, and Page is all over his parts on everything including something as simple as Suzy.
