External Power Supplies

Some power amps and pre-amps come with external power supplies.I understand some of the benefits of this setup.I'm awaiting the arrival of a T-Amp that comes with a wall wart power supply.I'm contemplating buying a regulated power supply.Do any of you use
aftermarket power supplies,and was the investment worthwhile?

Very worthwhile for T-amps.  Do you have any diy experience, or do you need a completed unit?

No DIY ability at all,I was thinking about a commercially available unit,12v 5amp.

External power supplies, if designed right, do more than just deliver the required power to the internals. There are also many different ways to go about this, and as you may suspect, each method has its demons to conquor. However, they will almost always improve things over a wall wart.
