FS: Selah Audio Custom Accuton/Seas Dipoles - Sold
« on: 30 Nov 2008, 09:59 pm »
I commissioned these from Rick in early 2006. They have a BG Neo 3 PDR tweeter with back-cup, Accuton C82-T8 mids, and Seas W22EX woofers. Crossovers are Mills resistors, Sonicap Gen I and Solen caps, and a mix of air core and foil inductors. They are wired with Litz braided magnet wire on the mids and woofers and solid silver on the tweeters. Binding posts are Cardas. The finish is figured cherry veneer with several coats of danish oil and satin polyurethane. Spikes are provided.

They are very easy to setup and sound best firing straight ahead in an equilateral triangle with the listener --listening axis is designed to be 30 degree off-axis. They are designed to be augmented with subwoofers, so the woofers are sealed and roll-off fairly early with a -3dB of ~55Hz.

Asking price is roughly the cost of parts, $1800 $1650 OBO. I greatly prefer to sell locally (Austin area) but will consider shipping at the buyer's expense. I will deliver in the Austin area and am happy to audition them in my home or in another's home.

I am also selling the subwoofers i used with these in another ad. I will make significant discounts for the package.

Many images are available in the galleries linked in my signature.

I heard these at Gabe's and thought they were an excellent set of speakers, dynamic with excellent imaging and clarity.  Although similar to a pair of GR-Research OB-7's (that was sitting next to them), these had just a touch more air and realism.

VERY nice design.  I've used those ceramic mids and they sound great.  An outstanding deal for someone.  If I needed them I'd jump on them.

I hadn't seen this ad until tonight. These speakers sounded great at the BBQ (even in our untreated listening space).

Someone is going to get a nice pair of speakers!

Good luck with the sale!
